the team of hu zhijia, a professor at anhui university, observed the photon hall effect and photon magnetoresistance in the random laser system, revealed the regulation process of magnetic field on random laser disordered scattering on the macroscopic level and microscopic scale, and put forward the method of regulating the random laser scattering disorder . the research results have been published in nature communications.

the modulation of random laser disordered scattering by magnetic fields has attracted widespread attention for its rich physical significance. in this work, the research team fabricated magnetic gain polymer fibers for generating random lasers.

from the macroscopic experimental phenomena, the team observed the presence of magnetic transverse photocurrents in the disordered multiple scattering of random lasers as the magnetic field strength increased and the emission intensity of the random lasers decreased, which signifies the photonic hall effect and photonic magnetoresistance phenomena in the random laser regime.

at the microscopic level, based on the field-dependent theory of magnetic disorder in scattering nanoparticles and the copy-symmetry breaking phenomenon in the spin-glass theory, the team found that magnetotransverse diffusion of photons reduces the scattering disorder, which in turn reduces the intensity fluctuation disorder of the random laser.

hu zhijia introduced that this work establishes the connection between the above two effects and random lasers, and visualizes and visualizes the effect of magnetic field on random laser disordered scattering at the microscopic level to the macroscopic random laser intensity fluctuation, which is crucial for the design of random lasers and the study of physical mechanisms.
